A Day of Fun & Frolic at Eco Park

Students from the lower nursery & upper nursery section went for a fun-filled picnic at Eco Park in February 2023.

A Trip to Nehru Children’s Museum

Classes 1 and 2 went on an excursion to the Nehru Children’s Museum to explore puppets, miniatures, scenes from Indian epics and more.  

Fun and Learning Meet at Science City

Classes 3 and 4 visited Science City, where various experiments, exhibits and shows ignited their scientific interests.

Time Travel at Jorasanko Thakur Bari

Students from class 5 visited Jorasoanko Thakur Bari, a heritage site in Kolkata and an abode of Nobel laureate and literary stalwart Rabindranath Tagore.

Independence Week Celebration:

While the country observed India’s 77th Independence Day on August 15, 2023, our girls at Seth Soorajmull Jalan Balika Vidyalaya celebrated Independence Week from August 14 to 25th, 2023. One of the students from the Primary section delivered the opening speech, while other students from different classes participated in various cultural activities like singing, dancing, fancy dress competitions, recitals and other activities. Our teachers took special care to prepare the students and imbibe a sense of team activity.

Secondary and Higher-secondary section (2023)

Sports Week:

In the spirit of International Yoga Day, Seth Soorajmull Jalan Balika Vidyalaya celebrated Sports Week from June 17 to 22, 2023. It started with students of Classes VI and IX practising yoga, followed by different inter-house sports events. The girls also participated in Kho-Kho and Basketball matches.

Hindi Debate:

The 2023 Independence Week celebration got off the ground with a Hindi debate. Students from Class XI came forward to share their ideas and opinions for and against the motion. The stage was thriving with friendly banter, camaraderie and confidence.

Independence Week Celebration:

As India celebrated its 77th Independence Day on August 15, 2023, students at Seth Soorajmull Jalan Balika Vidyalaya went above and beyond. From August 14 to 25, 2023, students from the secondary and higher-secondary sections celebrated Independence Week- a week full of cultural programmes, community services and a sense of patriotism. The students participated in dances, recitals, skits, debates and awareness drives, all while celebrating the spirit of independence and togetherness.

Dengue Awareness Drive:

Students from the secondary section took it upon themselves to spread awareness about dengue and clean the College Street Area to raise consciousness among the residents. They prepared banners, spoke to the locals, and cleaned the surroundings to get more people talking about the importance of cleanliness and dengue prevention. It was a delight to see young minds collectively working towards the betterment of our society.
